How do you fit your Bonnet
On my MK Indy, the Bonnet had been fitted by "locating" on 6 pins. These look like they had some rubber on them, that has perished and
come away. This means that it is difficult to get the bonnet on, and especially off - as the bonnet catches on the pin where the rubber has gone. It
is then locked down with four rubber catches.
Anyway, how do others fit their bonnets? Is the pin method the norm, or are there other methods.

Thanks for the quick reply. So do you not have a physical Pin or locator that goes between the body and the Bonnet ?
I guess any pictures may help me decide how to change mine.

No pins on mine either just the tension of the rubber catch things on the side.

Yes there is a locator pin that fits to the chassis and the catch latches on to

most arrangements don't have locating pins, just catches that keep it under tension to keep it down.

I used 4 rubber catches with no pins to locate.
The lips around the scuttle and nose cone should help to locate the bonnet and then the catches tie it down nice and tight. It helps if you put a
strip of foam rubber (~3mm thick) either on the lips of the bonnet or along the top of the side panels - this gives some extra tension to the bonnet
and prevents any damage if the 2 parts move slightly.

One thing to note some people have lost bonnets with rubber catches i.e driving allong only to see bonnet flying over head! It seems the getting the
tension on them is critical and they appear to lossen with age. If you go this route keep an eye on the catches.

Yep, I have 4 rubber catches that have given way, only 1 came off but at 80mph the bonnet went up like a rocket!
Thinking of using dzus now to locate it and hold it solid...

Dzus catches for me , have used 5 on mine 2 each side and another at the centre rear. Just make sure you don't forget to fasten them .

2 Dzus + 2 westfield bonnet locks on the first one, and now 4 dzus and 2 westfiels locks, as I left the bonnet too long in a bad position, leading to
deformation

Mines hinged at the front but used lockable Aerocatches at the back.
Lockable cos sometimes i bring it to work and the area is not the most salubrious and i dont want the scrotes messing around with it
