I wanted the manifold inlets to be angled the same as the head inlets... there were clearance issue with shorter runners (the cam-activated fuel pump mountings got in the way), so had to stack 'em higher.

Dunno yet... started it all a couple of years ago with the intention of it going into an old Ultima Spyder chassis I have - that's fallen by the wayside, so I have an engine, but no intended use! May appear in the 'For Sale' section at some point (assuming l0rd doesn't take it for now't)

You actually had to give me £45 quid and deliver it as well.

Being serious, do not sell it ever. Look at it. It is a beauty.

Just stick a glass over the tbs and you have a well designed table.

I say this as a (jealous) friend Scootz, but if you can fork out that much for someone to put an engine together for you (that you don't even think you can use...), maybe you should consider shelling out to have someone complete your ultima?

He's loved working on it - he's almost as excited as I am about it! He's taken loads of snaps and will put it on their website once it's been finished.

Price... ??? I couldn't say what the bill was for Engine Services work as that's between them and me, but I've kept a rough running total of what the whole engine-project (inclusive of all services, parts / donor engine) has cost so far...
....
.....
......
.......
........
.........
..........
...........
............
............. let's put it this way - if I sold it for any less than £7.5k, then I'll have lost money (what, who me?)! But who cares! I've really enjoyed doing it and learnt a lot in the process!

Anyhow, we'll see how it goes... when I'm not around the engine I think of selling it as I'm not fit to build a car to take it and it's a shame for it not to be used, but whenever I see it it gets my petrolhead-juices flowing! I'm pretty sure that it won't fit in the Quantum, but I'll lower it down just to be sure once I've got it back in the garage. If it fits, then it stays!

If not then I might even open it up to P/X's... hot Duratec engine, Quaife sequential box, car, bike, spinal cord transplant, etc, etc.

When I know, so will LCB!]

I'd have to explain that this all started a long time ago and gradually it got to a stage where the engine HAD to be finished in the hope of me ever making a reasonable return from it if I didn't use it. Had I abandoned it when I realised the Ultima project was no longer tenable, then it would have been pretty much worthless and I've have lost a LOT!

Also, the Ultima would cost a huge amount of money to finish... money I don't have at present and don't foresee having. I suppose I'll get round to selling the Ultima chassis and bodywork at some point.
