DAX Rush rear end options

Hi I'm a new member of the site and came across it while reading CKC mag. Anyway years ago I looked at building a KC but was put off buy the early models and funky shapes etc. So I stuck with bikes.. Anyway after a crash a couple of weeks ago resulting in a brioken shoulder and colar bone I've decided bikes are no longer for me. I've had several crashes over the years and it's never my fault..

Anyway I'm going to use my complete Kawasaki ZX12r to build my chosen car a DAX Rush MC..... I've one burning question though, I love the car, style etc except for the box back end, I think it's a real slab of a thing that in my personal taste wastes a great styling opportunity, simply put I don't need a boot has anyone come across a neat way to alter the rear to something more pleasing, say like a diffuser and expose F1 style mechanicals??

Thanks in advance, and no insult to anyone who love the Dax rear as standard..

Welcome to the forum

Not sure if there is anything specifically for the Dax on the market but the thing with 'our' cars is that you can do what you like with them so why not design something for your self? Anything is possible with some tube, a welder and some fibreglass!

For inspiration there are a few wild looking Westfields with modified rear ends about if you have a google

Hi and welcome. Great choice of engine and car.
Not to be contrary but would you not be better looking at other options if the Rush body is not entirely for you?
Bearing in mind at the end of the day the style concept is the same as any other 7 it seems a bit odd to want a Rush, but want to chop it up already

There has been very few kits that change the 7 look
It would be perhaps better to look at the available kit models first before committing to the Dax
Not many shows left Stonliegh probably the best one around otherwise spend some time looking and check out Complete Kit car mag
I would also look at MEV and Fisher Fury but there are loads with different bodies that are still spaceframe underneath

smashing advice, I love the 7 look just want to mix it up at the rear . I did look at mev but my they look small. I do plan to visit the august kit car show as I missed last weekends event through my shoulder injury... I'm really excited to get going, having been a mechanic and body man ive built a couple of mk 2 escort rally cars just glad to be being creative againg. bikee tend to be limited and look best un molested, well a few upgrades is mandatory of course but far less scope than a kc..

Hi

Just for info, although I sold my Rush last year, which had the ZX12R (2005 model).
I still have some of the info relating to the fitment, which may be of some help.

WOW yes that would be amazing!!!! I've been trying to work through the build and the components to use from the bike so that would be amazing. How can we proceed?

I'd like to up the GG's with a turbo conversion nopthing to mad but I have heard holeshot racing do a stage 1 2 and 3 and the stage two looks most suitable any thoughts
??

The Rush isn't a cheap kit but then it holds is value well when you eventually come to sell it.

However, if you modified the rear end much I imagine it would destroy the premium value it has.

I have seen the 'boot' often replaced by a flat sheet of carbon.

As for a diffuser I imagine someone on here would help you build one in carbon.

If you want to do any more then you are best choosing a different option to start with.

Building a Dax Rush.

I toyed with getting a dax but the striker ticked more boxes for me so I went with that.i dont like the look of the striker from the front personally but did prefer the rear looks wise, and the motor i used was far too tall to fit anyway,so I made my own front bodywork (copying the dax nosecone)and just bought the striker rear tub.i don't see any reason why you cant just do the same to the back of the dax.just make the back how you want it to look, thats the whole point of building it yourself! Its all just a matter of taste and you can easily slap on a standard rear end if it ever causes issues selling it in the future.
