Tribute Automotive
Hello,
I have been looking at the Tribute Automotive MX250.
I have read differents comments about it on this forum.
some people like it , some don't ( that's life...)
Is there anybody here that did build one ?
is it as simple that they say to register it without IVA ?
What about the quality of the kit ?
etc....
thanks for your feedback,
Gerardo

They had one at the Stoneleigh show a couple of years back. It's a very rough kit, hence the price. To get it to the standard in that
(photoshopped!) picture would need a fair bit of work and maybe a grands worth of paint.
Having said that, it's not a 'kit car', more of a rebody. So no IVA to mess about with, and you get to keep what is essentially a
complete donor with all the security, safety and reliability.
I would be tempted, but don't use the kit price as any kind of guide as to the 'on the road' price.

There's one on eBay as an abandoned project. NTDWM by the way, here's the link:

The quality of the grp is excellent and the kit is affordable.
As said the real cost is with the paint & prep.
My understanding from chats at the various shows where the demo was exhibited is that the car exhibited was just in primer to show what you get rather
than to show the finished product. It's a small company but he is very concientious.

You'd be better asking specific questions on http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18 talking to owner/builders and the
manufacturers?

Must admit I quite like it, on their website they suggest a £4K+ build cost and suggest £1k for finish and paint. Given that its basically an MX5 the
underpinnings are good.

I very much like it. Great to look at, rock solid MX5 mechanicals, no IVA, practical.
