Wheel size over sierra brakes

Evening

I'm currently running 15" wheels over sierra front and rear disc brakes but want to go down a size if possible.

I tried 13's but there's no chance I clearing the calipers especially on the rear. Does anyone run 14's on theirs?

If so what wheels. Off set etc.

Thanks

Steve

You just need the right 13" wheels, proper minilites, revolutions etc do not fit however plenty of other ones do.

I'm using 14 inch KN Minators.
Tyre choice is a bit more restricted but you can still get decent road and track tyres for cheap.

I still needed a small spacer to give my spokes a bit of clearance over the caliper otherwise they would have caught (you could grind them but my calipers were new so I didn't want to).

As I understand it, if you change the rear calliper spring for the short version you can fit them.

I managed to fit the Ford 14" alloys on but Henry's specials might not be quite the look you want!

I have managed to get Team Dynamics pro-race in 13" to fit over Sierra calipers at the rear of my Striker. These are 7" wide wheels with an ET23 offset. I had to file about 1-2mm off the handbrake cable 'claw' on the caliper and I did fit shorter springs as I already had them but it turns out the normal springs would still have been OK!

The wheels previous to this were some 14" revolutions with 185/60 tyres all round and the total weight saving going from them to 13" Team Dynamics (with 205 tyres on the back and 185 on the front) is nearly 10Kg in unsprung mass

The tyre fitters do have to be careful where they place any balance weights but that is the only drawback

What is the weight of your team dynamic and tyre in 13 ubch? My 14's were only 13kg for wheel and tyre so if any see me looking much weight going for 13s.

I use 6 x 13" KN Minators ET13 and they clear standard sierra disk brakes, but I did need to use a 6mm spacer for the rear

7"x13" ET23 Team Dynamic Pro-Race = 4.88Kg (average of 4 weighed)

New Toyo R888 (185 profile) 7.87Kg (average of 2 tyres)
New Toyo R888 (205 profile) 9.22Kg (average of 2 tyres)

I bought them from Midland wheels, but they don't sell them any more, I believe my wheels might actually be copies of KN Minators.

Ive got 13" Caterham wheels (revolution?) and to get Sierra handbrake calipers under them you will need to swap the springs on the calipers, from 4 coils to three ....

Once swapped they clear the wheel no bother.

I run 13 inch Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 on my MK Indy. I bent the hand brake claw down slightly and 3 coil springs instead of 4 coil springs.
I have some 3 coil springs if you are interested. Please U2U.
Also take a look of my photo in my photo file.

All the best
