the only way out for the driver was to jump! there's a tough choice...
1)either sit there til help arrives, and risk it crashing down with all that weight behind him. certain death.
2) or jump and get out the way. certain broken legs, possibly death, but a lot of pain

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

A bit mellowdramatic me thinks - you'd be alright from that height!

Seems ironic that that is a mobile bridge inspection unit!
Obviously wanted a closer look
(I'm guessing that as the unit is stowed, the road was closed for inspection / maintenance works, they'd either just finished work or were
just about to start work and had left the unit un-attended and the handbrake off!?)

That ain't any old lorry that must be worth several hundred thousand pounds! I am sure the owners will not want to drop it, mind you it is also
very heavy so they will need a very big crane to lift it out!
