Ok. I am nearly finished building the car and need to start to think about sorting out the chassis number. I have a 2003 Velocity chassis which I think like most Luego chassis it has no number.... Question is can I just make one up and if I do what format do I need to use? Can I use a chassis plate or does it have to be stamped into the chassis.....

The only safe bet is to ask the local DVLA office where you intend to register it. Some let you make it up, some want to issue it themselves.

I got a number from Luego but then the DVLA made me use one they gave me........

I just made my own up and 'explained' to Northampton DVLA that that 'WAS and IS' going to be its chassis number. They just said 'OK'.
