Had some great fun yesterday in the very nice Welsh sunshine.
Car was going very well....right up to the point the gearbox gave up. Mission now is to get the gearbox fixed before next weekend (Crystal Palace and
Goodwood!).
Nice video ,what engine was in in white striker in your video seemed pretty quick too.
It looked rather good in the Corners to me too! But didn't have your straight line speed
No I don't think there's many cars out there that could keep up with jeffs car in a straight line but the striker was pretty quick for sure...
The Striker was a whole 130BHP 1.6 4AGE lol....! Proving that a tight circuit like Llandow needs nimble as well as power. The Striker I was chasing is very well driven by one of the RAW guys and has IRS which makes a big difference over the kerbs. You'll notice I had to back off a number of times with other traffic but once I was on him.....game over.
Have a look at 10.10 onwards....I come past him chasing the Striker, big flames Make sure you click full screen and HD.

You don't really appreciate the speed differential on a trackday until you watch it back from someone else's car. In the few laps after
this (having been held up by the Westfield and the Tiger) I'm 1/3 of a lap further on.

Maybe you should get a IRS set up for your car then your be able to beat everyone every where!
Thought has crossed my mind.....
If thats the lad from Raw then he's got the same engine as mine, Its a 5pw R1, so 150bhp (when new!). Does seam to go rather well.
Time for a new chassis Jeffw
Yes, you are correct, it is the BEC one. It does go well. Certainly one of the quickest things all day. On a clear track I could certainly close him down significantly, he gains on the brakes (lighter car) and with the IRS through the twisty section.
well thats good to know what my car is capable of!!! would have been interesting to have a clear track and seen the difference in lap times. Striaght line power vs corner speed
I was down in the 44sec bracket and I was certainly taking 1-2 secs out of him on an open track. Not really a fair comparison though. You need to
look at how he gets past everything else on track.
Anyway.....gratuitous flame shot from the Striker after my overtake
Flamage
This is the view from the Striker I was chasing

Should be synced with my video

it would have gone round corners a lot quicker if the front suspension had a bit of movement in it as well
What are you on about?
his front suspension does not move at all. Just watch the video again the whole car rocks from side to side with no movement, the wheels do not go up
and down? Take a look at the famous carterham and Porsche you tube of the ring to give a bit of perspective.
the body should stay still and the wheels on the bus go up and down

Complete nonsense. Look at the screw head on the back of the cycle wing and compare its position against the roll cage. The suspension moves a
lot.
You do realise this is a RAW employee in a car he owns don't you?
well I will not get into this with you then you are correct what do I know i have only had 3 of them!
Oh by the way I have some spare 400lb and 300lb springs from RAW off my old striker that they sell as track day spec springs.
changed them 210lb 180lb when I had it set-up.
Come on Simon.....you can do better than that !
The car is a lot softer than you think it is...
Dopdog have you seen this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVqtXgV-zZ0
same car same track, look at that top rocker move lol
also when i put re worked my striker i asked what spring were on that car, 200 front, 180 rear. so mine has this.
Surely suspension setup is very depentant on the driver style. Ive no idea how to drive mine so cant tell what i need
Fair play R1 I know when I am wrong, car looks great and goes really well.
Shame Jeff did not stay out longer or you would have had him
