[Videos] Croft Track day 24/06/14
gingerprince - 26/6/14 at 05:35 PM

Had my first ever outing at Croft on Tuesday. Couple of light showers in the morning but otherwise dry. Enjoyed the circuit but it's quite challenging getting the right lines, particularly around the complex.

Managed a 1:40.7 towards the end, but pretty sure I can go quicker just need to inflate my testes slightly

First time out also for new action camera - TCL SVC 200. Excellent quality and only cost 85 quid all in. Includes external mic connection so sound is decent - unfortunately means you can hear I'm feathering the throttle through the esses. Need to return if only to get through there and the next right hander flat which I know is possible just need to overrule my brain

Anyhow first video below of my quickest laps with little traffic: -

And second video earlier in the day and slower, but with "grin cam" pointing to passenger (my old ContourGPS mounted to mirror): -

Have a look at the 2nd video and study the position of your head compared to the rollbar

If you're on about the roll bar height, I think it's just the camera angle?

For a single hoop it looks OK to me. (Pic a few years ago, but I doubt it's been changed)

It's an electronic paddle setup (Kliktronic solenoid and my own paddles) which piggybacks the existing manual shifter. I kept the manual stick because it's useful for finding neutral (difficult with electronic) and also can be used for more gentle gear changes when not at full chat. Engine is 918cc fireblade.

I've been lurking Done a couple of track days in the last couple of years but want to get more in this year. Had running problems last year which I didn't sort until winter.

As Andy D said, I think it's the angle of the camera. There's a few inches of space between my helmet and the roll bar - when I had it made, MK measured me in the seat and added a bit.
