Anyone come across this problem?
Description
Type 9 gearbox with rally design extension, which is fouling the uj on the prop. I've fitted a 3mm spacer between box and extension, but still no
good!!
Any ideas?
Is that a quickshift kit fitted too? Looks like thats the bit thats touching... can you compare it to a normal type gearlever as see if theres anything you can shave off it?
looks like you just need to lift the lever. Put some washers between the extension and the lever base.
Looks like it the little mount thats drops down an inch should be facing up and then the main bracket canbe fliped so it lifts the lever a little.
Just made the extension based on David Jenkins design ... LINK
From what I can see, the extension you have has a 'step down' for the gearlever, that would lead me to think that you need to convert your
gearlever into a quickshift.
If you look at my photo's in THIS thread, you
can see that I have lifted the gearlever using M8 nuts after converting the gearlever.

I had the same problem, Dave Mac propshafts fitted a smaller joint to the front of the shaft.
Steve.
Try putting some spacers between the extension plate and the gear lever retainer , about 10mm should do so maybe some 10mm nuts(17mm spanner size) If that doesn't work then you may need a modified prop. IIRC Jollygreengiant had the same problem and had his prop modified but 3 nuts should be a lot cheaper
The plate that steps down, can it not be flipped over so it steps up? I would try that first, if that doesn't sort it then washers imbetween the
gear lever plate and the main mounting plate should sort it and if all else fails then get a smaller uj put on the front of your prop.
Cheers
