Trackdays without cycle wings

I notice a lot of trackdays say no open wheel cars. My locost currently has no cycle wings on because one snapped. Do you think I need to get it fixed and refitted to get on a trackday?

Cheers!

I think it's more of a rule to stop people bringing open wheel single seaterS, you'll be fine I bet.

Nope, you do need them. I went out at Cadwell without one (it broke on the way there) and was told by the marshalls to fix it on with cable ties. Apparently they considered that safer than going on without one, seems stupid to me but there you are.

I tied it on and finished the day without any issues.

I think it's a bit variable.. depends which TDO, some may let you continue your day with one missing, others wont. But not really a good idea to turn up at the start of the day with no wings fitted.

Having lost one at a very wet Oulton whilst having no issues been allowed to continue the day without it in the wet it sure was missed.

Lost a cycle wing at Woodbridge = black flag

Had to go and search it down, then gaffer tape and cable ties to get back out there. He explained that the insurance is void as it becomes an open wheel car.

I drove 300 miles through Scotland without them, in pouring rain, so I know how wet you get! There was a fountain coming off the front wheel, landing on my lap! I'd do it again though

I'm surprised people have been stopped from running after losing them, I lost an entire rear arch at Blyton last year and was allowed to continue.
