That was my only reservation... although I'm guessing that if you had the dosh to buy the thing, then a re-spray would be peanuts!

Apparently it was once road legal and it wont take much to make road legal again. Last time I saw it it was in the showroom and looked stunning.

I think there looking for £250k+ if memory serves, I was told 6 months ago and the price may have changed. If its still in the showroom and your passing its worth a look.

I was at a driving day at Lotus the t'other week and they had one in the workshop. They were also doing a new Exige version with wider rear arches etc.

That is one smart car. Not keen on the livery but everything else is very special.

Do you reckon it will be nippy?

Seems to have been a pretty miserable failure!

quote:

Debuting at the first round of the 1997 FIA GT Championship season, the three factory Elise GT1s took to the grid.
Unfortunately, their debut was short lived, as all three cars failed to finish, all due to alternator problems in the engine.
For race two, privateer GBF UK received their two cars. Again the three factory cars suffered, failing to finish because
of gearbox difficulty. GBF's Elise GT1s fared slightly better, with one of their entries actually finishing, although classified
last and 25 laps down from the winner.
