Velocity nose cone??

Hi

Just a quick question, i have recently recieved the GRP for my velocity XT, i have now just gone to fit the stainless steel grill to the nose cone and the lip that you have to mount it to has been removed.

Do they not have a grill any more or is it the fact the GRP is wrong??

Picture attached so you understand what i mean.

Look forward to your thoughts!!

Stu

I removed mine myself - looks a lot better IMHO.

That said, you might struggle to mount the grille you have....I used mesh, does the same job.....

Agreed, the Velocity nose cone looks so much better without that 30mm 'lip'.

Also, the more air through the front the better... right?

I used wire racing mesh from Halfords. It's not 'locost' but definately less restrictive on the airflow compared to most other grills.

Working from the inside of the nose cone, I bent the grill forward at the edges and set in place with a fibre glass repair kit.

I removed mine as well and went for the Halfords mesh.

I "might" have some spare after making mine thats large enough if you can measure how much you need.

The Velocity grill is fairly heavy hence the reason I got shot of it.

Looks much better without it.

I think the original grille looks best, but then as that is what I have I'm biased. I think that you could bond some mesh, in black possibly?, to the nose cone and then screw the stainless grille to the mesh.
