The end of the Valdris

Just thought i would let everyone know who followed my build and finally into production.
Basically the short of it is KTM is not happy with us selling the Valdris as it looks too much like there car and as we dont have the sought of money needed to argue the point we have had to put a stop to selling them.
Just thought i would let you guys know before you see it in the mags.
As for the car watch this space, a new body is being made to fit the chassis and its all my own design.

Gutted for you - I know how much work you've put into it - personally I think you should just make it 10% different (Westfield/Caterham) & stick your fingers up at them - but then that's easy for me to say, I'm not the one being threatened with a lawsuit. Best of luck with the new project.

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Don't take this the wrong way... but are you really surprised?
Surely anyone who knows even a little bit about kit cars would be aware that if you make a car that's very similar to another, you are asking for litigation problems.
And you openly state that your car is an Xbow inspired car. That looks very much like it. And then you go and sell it.
Perhaps if you didn't make it look so similar, or copy so much of the design, or built one for yourself (and not tried to make money out of the venture) then you would not have 'rocked the boat', but to do all of the above then surely their move is expected?
They have invested (I would guess) several million pounds to develop their car. They are a manufacturer, they exist to make cars (bikes) and make money. You are potentially taking money away from them. I know if I were in their position and someone was making a very similar copy of my item then I would want to protect it.

personally I think there's plently of scope to improve on the style chosen by KTM, much more than 10%

KTM strike me as total dicks.

Look at that business with not lending Ewan Macgregor and Charlie Boorman bikes to do The Long Way Down.

An entire TV series worth of publicity thrown away!

I hate the Crossbow. I don't care that it handles well, I think it's ugly.

Do a re-body, use the same style, be outlandish, use curved panels.
