Any suggestions of how best to bend 1/2" round tube. Needs bending over a radius of 12". Don't have access to a ring roller so thats

It's 18 swg. Just noticed for some reason its showing up as 12 inch not 0.5 inch on main page.

I had thought of cutting a former for the radius out of MDF. Anyone tried it?

I thought that, but the solid steel brake disc was just the right size, and as it was a vented disc it had a handy groove that the pipe could sit
in.
sorry no pic,.. but a block of wood as the end stop, and the disc both clamped to the bench,.. 2 mins later,... hey presto!

I'm guessing he probably doesn't have a 24" brake disc lying aroung

I have not tried it myself, but I have heard of others doing it successfully.

Rene thanks for the offer but I'm a bit far away in Inverness!!!
With the plumbers pipe bender can you make gentle radii? I thought they were more for acute angles.

Hi
You can get pretty much whatever you want , you just move it round the former.
I've made some weird & wonderful pipe shapes with mine.
Good luck
