DIY scratch build efi manfold

I need to do it because I changed the angle of my carb fed engine and Webers are getting scarser and scarser. I also prefer using newer technology.

Who has done it and what help can they offer to make the fabricatin a little less painfull

Pop down to your local super ike breakers and get some throttle bodies off a 600cc 4 cylinder bike, then make a manifold to suit so either get a length of 3/8th - 1/2" ali and carve a new inlet plate or take a saw to your existing manifold and cut off the pipes.

You now need to weld some stub tubes to match the throttle body spacing.

If you do not have access to a Ali welding gear then make a new manifold out of steel.

The bike throttle bodies will come with injectors, TPS and MAP sensors, you will then need to add an ECU, megasquirt works well for a budget.

I am more leaning towards a plenum design.

A lot easier to set up and i have a supercharger lying on the rack as a future project

How do you balance the individual throttle bodies .

Saw a very expensive balance guage. Can not even find one in SA

I swapped my weber 45s on a DCOE manifold for a pair of twin jenvey TBs as a bolt up and go conversion. Surely easier than building a new manifold.

The sale of the webers paid for the (2nd hand) jenveys. I used a bike carb balancer for set up which was 57 quid http://www.carbtune.co.uk/carbpric.html

The jenveys had a tps, injector rail and injectors on them already. Maybe i was just lucky!

Problem is my current manifold is for a single solex downdraft, and for an OEM installation of the engine 10 deg off vertical.

I have moved the engine to vertical.

Can not machine the face of the manifold to vertical, because all thebolt holes are 90 deg to the face.

Would like to install a supercharger at a later stage
