Alloy Rad Fabricator Recommendations?
Evening all,
My Tiger rad on my Avon has sprung another split/leak. :-( This time within the cooling fins, so not so easy to fix. Rather than spend good money
at the welders yet again, I'd like to get a quality one made to measure. The current rad is too tall and so is slanted backwards. I'd
like to get one slightly less tall and mount vertical, leaving some space in front for future oil cooler or intercooler (you never know).
So i'm about to break out the CAD (cardboard aided design). Can anyone recommend a good fabricator for alloy rads? What else should I look
for, e.g. depth of core, etc.? Spec: 2.0 Zetec, standard head, Webon ITBs. circa 170BHP, but may take up to around 200BHP one day.

Allyfab did mine
Cracking job, works a treat.
But if I had the space a Polo rad would be used, fraction of the price and available at a moments notice. Unfortunately a bit too wide for mine.

Thanks all for the replies.
A bespoke rad looks like its about £300. I was hoping to better this. A bespoke one would fit my existing plumbing. Other off-the-shelf ones would
need some re-plumbing and associated costs. First looked at some Polo G40 alloy rads. They've got the correct 32mm pipe fittings, but not in
the ideal place and no 8mm vent to header tank. Alloy Civic rad for less than £100 looks favourite at the moment. Need to do some measurements first
though.
