Voltage stabiliser
My car has the complete instrument panel from a mk4 cortina. Does anyone know if it is possible to access the voltage stabiliser and if so what
voltage should it be giving.

stab should be on the back of the speedo / gauges, should be around the 9 volt mark

I would guess 10 Volts as most of the smiths range run on that.
I replace them with a 7810 chip.

I wonder whether wiring in a replacement external voltage stabiliser would be an option, e.g. Lucas one for Smiths gauges:
