I've driven past many police cars with the helmet on in the Indy, never been pulled over from the boys and girls in blue.

Cheers

Suspect wearing a helmet in a car may well be an offence but if you have no screen then it's sensible to wear one. Would have thought it would be thrown out of court if it got that far??

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Only time you would get a tug is if it was dark and you had a black visor on.

In my opinion, it should probably be illegal NOT to have a helmet or eye protection with an aeroscreen - I imagine that a fly in the face at 60mph (the national speed limit that all stick to on the twisty roads ) could cause all manner problems

I had heard from work that it was illegal to wear a helmet in a car as the plod considered it to be a bit of racing gear and 'racing on the road' is an offence. The test drives from work were banned from wearing helmet and the test vehicles had huge chunky roll cages fitted instead.

Personally I intend to wear a helmet as without a screen it is just common sense and will gladly argue the toss with plod if I get pulled for it.

Don't fear, no offence being committed. No laws broken.

Just ask mr Plod to come for a ride up the motorway doing 70 with no helmet. He'll soo change his mind (first stone or bumble bee) that is if he can see it

Scot's do it better in Kilts.

News to me too. I'll check it out though. I think it would be very harsh to get done for it if it is.

I think that it may well be illegal in a tin top, but not in an open car.
