Hi all
I have a Vauxhall Vivaro van and have an issue with the gearbox, garage no1 fix gearbox issue and suggested changing clutch and flywheel, garage no2
suggested fix gearbox and change clutch but not to worry about the flywheel.
Van has done 52000 and is 5 years old
Is it worth changing the flywheel?
If its dual mass maybe a yes....
Mine needed a clutch but when I took it off was horrified at how much play there was in the flywheel so I changed that as well, but it had done over
100,000 miles.
How much will it be to remove the box and replace the flywheel if you dont change it
If its dual mass yes definately if not no, I made the mistake of not doing so on my Combo, 14 months later had to have gearbox off again. If its a
concentric release bearing I'd change that as well.
After theyve changed your clutch make sure they secure the wiring loom that passes over the bell housing otherwise it fouls on the release mechanism
takes out the main 40A fuse and could cause fire.
Cheers,
Bob
