Excuse me for being thick, but who actually votes in these "primaries"?
I have read wikipedia which hasn't helped. I still don't know.
Is it everybody who wishes to vote, like the actual presidential election? or more like Labour over here where signed-up party members only vote?
Cheers
Clive
I believe its registered party members.

It's registered party members voting for who will be that party's candidate in the presidential election. Like lab /con members voting to
chose their leader.
The actual presidential election happens later.
The thought of Trump wining especially with Putin in the Kremlin seriously is seriously frightening. Up here in Scotland we have seen some seriously
nasty tactics towards home owners that Trump wanted to get rid of because they got in the way of his golf resort.
If you are a US voter please vote Democrat not Drumpf.
Thanks chaps, does make sense. It is just the way the media reports it, it comes over as an "everybody can vote" contest. But then again
that is tehy American media all over.
Must say the thought of Trump worries me, but Mrs Clinton is not much better. All nuts, the bunch of them. And we will have to suck up to them big
time if we exit the EU (and even if we remain).

Any registered voter can vote, but they can only vote on one side or the other. At this point they are just working out who will end up being the
Presidential candidates.
Trump is by far the better candidate than Hillary, if that tells you anything about her. But still not the ideal candidate by a long shot. He's
just had the money and enough people are fed up with the current crop of career criminals, I mean politicians that they'd vote for a trained
monkey rather than a Democrat.
Trump has zero backing from Congress so nothing he's spouting off will come about. But if another Democrat gets into office then there
won't be an America for very long. We'll be a third world country. And that's not just rhetoric. We are on a cusp at the moment and a
little shove in either direction and we fall off a cliff.

I shudder to think what would happen if Trump got the final nod as president in the current global climate
and can't believe that the american's would be daft enough to elect him to the oval office with the potential of his 'finger on the
trigger'
I read yesterday that certain elements within the armed forces would defy him on some of the changes he wants to make
If you've got Netflix watch "You've been Trumped"
Wouldn't have happened if William Wallace had still been about

Needs sound
There's a good chance you'll end up feeling the Bern, texan! He's polling well in Democrat states, and beats all GOP candidates in head to head polls. With a bit of luck, you might catch Europe up!
Trumps rhetoric is scary, if he gets in then America will be in real trouble.
The thought that the world could be run by Putin, Trump and Johnson in a years time is even more scary whe you think that Johnson is the sensible
one!

A habitual liar vs the wife of arguably the most successful president in recent times.
Ok thats a very simplistic view from a limited perspective but fact that Trumps managed to get as far as he has sums up how stupid groups of educated people can be, and how blind and sheep like they can be.

Hillary has never lied though she did "mispeak" about that whole landing under sniper fire in the former Yugoslavia. Still reckon to "mispeak" is to have a speech impediment not telling bare faced lies. Still, better than the nutter with the crazy hair (suits the rest of him).
I'm not all that interested in Politics, always consider myself as a serf, always voted though, but to my beliefs of who would do the best job, more often then not no one ever does ! Reading this thread is a bit alarming, and the thought of the lunatics taking over the asylum is now becoming very real. Armageddon? maybe. The break up of the EU is becoming a reality and the search for power could lead to conflict. 1914-18 and 1939-45 both started in Europe.
