Here's a Question for all of those who have had to fit a catalytic convertor to their post-1995 engine.
Where can these be obtained? Are they available off the shelf, or is it yet another trip to the scrappie?
Will be running a silvertop Zetec, ex W-reg Escort, on bike carbs - eventually!!
Story so far:-
Having been given notice to quit my lock-up, (by this Saturday), have had to move everything back home (much to my Dearly Beloved's displeasure;
her car now sits on the drive). There is another lock-up, which will become available later this month (I hope!!!!), after some very necessary
re-roofing work has been carried out.
So work on the car has had to be put on hold, until I can get it re-garaged.
The last post on the following thread shows what I used and the results that I got at IVA with a 1997 BMW straight 6
Cat Thread

Thanks for these replies. Will be checking out your suggestions to find the most suitable version.

If you iva'd your car without a cat then you won't need one. Or am I missing something?
Universal Exhaust Catalytic Converter Round 400 Cell 2" 51mm Cat Mild steel
I used a magna flow from the states but the P.Os set charge for customs was nearly as dear as the CAT if you can get it UK or europe its worth bearing
in mind.
Cheers,
Bob

Ste & splitrivet, thanks for your suggestions. Some useful info here.
I don't think you'll need one? Aren't the emissions levels set for the car at IVA, doesn't then matter what engine you put in.
I might be wrong of course
