1995 zx9r powered Sylva Striker project start up.
Here's a short clip of my zx9r powered Striker starting up for the third time. It's going to be use for hillclimbs and sprints so
it's a lightweight basic build in a bid to improve performance. I've fitted a secondhand pro-shift gear change system using buttons on the
steering wheel to shift up and down.
Its been built on a shoe string budget so it might be a little old school but it's all I can afford at the moment.
The engine is a big bore TTS built version and originally came out of a Tiger. Mk did the chassis modifications and we managed to keep the original
Tony Law exhaust manifold.
Still quite a bit to do but its getting there slowly.

Cheers. Cheap Kawasaki green 2k paint off ebay. Chips very easily so its a good job I've got loads left over.

Cheers. Been using ABS carbon effect plastic for some of the panel's. Going to attempt to use it for both side panels instead of the traditional
alloy one's. The original green body work needs quite a bit of work so need to decide if its going to be worth using. The one peice bonnet nose
cone has cut outs for a xflow manifold on one side and needs major modifications to get it to fit over the new bike air filter.

Only downside to using that ABS in places the sun can shine directly onto the panel it distorts quite badly,it goes back flat once cooled off though.

Yes know about the abs flexing when it gets warm. Going to rivet it on in as many places as possible and keep it well away from the exhaust.
Fingers crossed it looks good but worth a try. Loads of plastic being used on cars today plus looks good straight out of the tin.

Some of the original panels were stressed members, not sure which ones but obviously ABS isn't going to have the strengh.

Had a race spec roll cage fitted plus some additional bracing so don’t think swapping the two alloy side panels for abs ones will drastically effect
the integral strength of the chassis. Speaking the the guys who race these the chassis is probably a bit too stiff anyway. Need a little flex by all
accounts.
