Sell the tintop or sell the Tiger (unfinished)

Should I downgrade my 2003 Nissan X-Trail to a 2000ish Focus and use the cash to get someone to build the Tiger, or sell my unfinished Tiger Cat E1.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/simpony/4960598239/

I have had the Tiger for 3 years and it needs quite a bit of work to complete.
Unfortunately I have run out of time, experience and money.

Spec.

2.0l Pinto, GSXR 600 TBs, Megasquirt

Engine and transmission

Plumb in low pressure pump to swirl pot.
Plumb in high pressure pump to swirl pot, fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail.
Modify fuel rail?
Vacuum Map connections to megasquirt.
Modify/make throttle bracket cable and connect to pedal.
Complete engine, megasquirt, TB, ignition wiring including VR sensor.
Check position of 36 tooth cog.
Install and connect O2 sensor to exhaust, including dash gauge and feed to megasquirt.
Polish and fit exhaust
Complete engine cooling hoses and mount radiator and fan.
Fit and adjust clutch cable.
Tidy up brake pipes near offside engine mount.
Start engine and set up megasquirt
Tighten propshaft bolts

Bodywork, lighting

Purchase and fit aeroscreen
Make/purchase wing stays and fit arches
Fit rear bodywork and finish
Fit rear interior alloy panels
Fit pigs ear to passenger side under seat
Fit rear light clusters
Fit headlights and indicators
Complete wiring to above
Fit seats and seatbelts
Complete and adjust handbrake, wire up switch
Fit speedo cable
Connect rev meter
Connect fuel gauge
Check instruments and switches
Any IVA work

Thanks in advance.

A car builder's site is not the place to ask permission to sell or get rid of a kit car!

Obviously this is what you do:

1. Downgrade the Nissan to a cheaper option

2. Take the cash and get HELPERS in to finish the car. There must be a few nearby. Don't worry they won't charge you much, but you'll be encouraged to buy all sorts of cool parts which won't be cheap, but will leave you with a very cool auto.

3. Sell once you're tired of DRIVING it.

a) I know.. I wanted some reassurance

b) 1. I need to know that I can fund the build completion from the difference.

c) 2. I have tried but can't find anyone close to me!

D) 3. THIS IS MY (midlife crisis) DREAM. I don't think that I would ever tire of driving it.

I really appreciate the support of this community and I was looking for options that would mean that I can achieve my dream. I would dearly love to complete my car on my own, but this is no longer a case of a bit of welding and swapping an engine in a mini or balancing the carbs on an MGBGT.

Thanks again for your comments and your inspiration.

you have to appreciate this gp the pot calling the kettle here but ... Why not simplify your build? Stop the mega squirt and in carbs to reduce a headache. You can always upgrade later.

You telling us a Nissan X trail is going to cost the same in fuel, tax and insurance as a diesel focus? You will be able to afford it eventually.

Where's Utoxeter?
