Momentary switch solution
I like the Savage momentary switches and wanted to fit them on my build but could not find an off the shelf unit that would help me do this. I was
very lucky to find a very cleaver chap who when he wasn't working on a hydrogen powered car project he found the time to design and make exactly
what I needed. I thought it might be of interest to the guys on here hence this thread. Also his website is not optimised as far as search engines go
so you haven't got a chance of finding it other than clicking on the link below.
This is what I asked for:
Headlights switch: Press once = sides on. Press again = dipped on. Press and hold for 1 sec = off
Main beam switch: flashes with dipped off or latches when dipped is on and turns dipped off.
Indicator switches (2): press once = on. Press again off.
Hazards: This switch latches.
Fog light: Works with main beam or dipped only (IVA OK)
Heater: Press once = low speed. Press again = High speed. Press and hold = off.
Wipers: Press once = slow speed. Press again = high speed. Press and hold = off. Also self parks.
Heated screen: Press once = on. Press again = off.
Each function has two wires coming out the module, one to a switch and the other is a negative feed to drive a relay.
There is a bleep when the buttons are pressed and this can be disabled if you want.
I have done 4000 miles in the car this year and this momentary module has been absolutely perfect.
He has now put this "Multi switch module" into production so it is available. He also makes smaller modules for just indicators or lights
etc.
Heres my build thread to give you an idea of whats involved. The part regarding the wiring starts from page 5.

I like the way it works with any mometary switch, so it should work
with my favorite the Carling switch.
