Well it would give certain builders a decent shot at getting their cars built!!

I believe its some thing to do with noise regs basically they have brought the dbs right down which no bec or cec would ever pass

But its an airfield!! Are the planes quieter than cars or do they not have to pass noise emmissions tests?? Seems like just another typical council apeasing the few local residents again and its the reason i signed the following petition (even if we all know the government wont listen anyway!!)

The issue (allegedly) isn't the track itself, but the local residents being irritated by the traffic/racers going to & from the track . They're just using the track noise regs to achieve their aims.

Similar thing happening with Bedford.

Pretty pathetic bunch of killjoys, but there you have it. Not a lot that track owners can do about it either.

so thats it then no more at brunters then or have they done the same as at elvington and reduced it to level where only factory fit and ie unmodified cars can even pass it little tip for the people of this great land if you dont want noise near your home try harder at school get a good job and f**k off to the country where they can then moan about the smell from farms knobs the lot of them (rant over)

I had heard that it was a voluntary thing from the owners. Apparently they get a LOT of flak from the locals over everything they do there - corporate days, aircraft, trucks, test days and track days. This flak covers noise as well as traffic to/from the site.

Now I know that Brunters is an airfield, and it has been there for years, and everybody moving there should be aware of potential noise and traffic - but obviously that doesn't stop them whinging.

It seems that something had to give to try and keep the peace with the locals.

I have heard a whisper that they may start up again but on a week day.

I will see what else I can find out.
