Connecting turbo plenum to bike carbs
greavesy7 - 18/5/15 at 08:47 PM

As title says how do you do it ?

You need some interface that seals.. Maybe the part of the original airbox with O rings????

All the ones I have seen look sealed then attached onto the trumpets with silicon and hose clips

Maybe a silly question, but are the carbs suitable for turbo use? If not, don't they have to be inside the pressurised airbox?

Bike carbs can Handel boost very well

They have a hose to the float bowl to equalise the pressure.

Be warned, even quite low boost is hard to properly contain, the plenum needs to be quite strong so you will struggle just pushing air into a standard airbox.

My Ali one split where it flexed so I had to weld pins across the wide area parts to strengthen it.

I wasn't intending to use the standard air box I was more interested in how people have conected the plenum to the carbs

Holshot racing do turbo kits for carbed fireblades and blackbirds.
