If so, what cables did you use for the handbrake? 'Old' Luego said 'Allegro'...but I find they are too short.

Ferg , do your cables come out of the rear of the upright going towards the front or the rear of the car? mine come out of the front but I seem to have a fair bit of slack . Think the drive shafts were shortened by approx 2" but appear to have more than that slack

Hmmm...
You gave me a heart attack there! I rushed out because ours come out of the back and it would mean swappng them side to side to alter it! However, I offered a cable up to the mounting bracket and threaded it through to the drum and it wouldn't go that way either AND pictures in the Luego Comedy-Book-Of-Fiction (AKA Build Manual) show the cable coming from the rear.........

Someone must have done this before...

In that case all I can suggest is if no one comes up with a suitable cable is to work out how much longer you need the cable to be and try your local friendly motor factors to see if they can come up with a pair. Something like a Peugeot 106?306?

Xt's are independant arnt they??
Sierra brakes pull from inside not outside the the live axle?? Could u not use the sierra cable and maybe chop it if needed? Iv got a MK4/5 fiesta cable on my cortina axle. Its a tad too long but is ok.

I just shortened the sierra cable using the "bolt with hole in it" method.

The Sierra cable is one complete thing side to side isn't it? How do you anchor the outer (twice)??

Ta.
