Headphones for i-pod and i-pads.

Does anyone know if Dr Dre Solo headphones are suitable for the old style i-pod and the i-pad 3. My daughter wants some large headphones to use with hers for Christmas.
She is worried that the Earphones will drain the batteries real quick as she has has used some of our old ones before and they drained the battery in her i-pad within minutes.
Are there any other ones we should be looking at rather than these. Jacko

Too right she should be worried.Big head phones that sound good are inefficient power consumption wise full stop.

I just got a pair of bluetooth ones off ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281020954164 for using with my phone and laptop, got inbuilt battery with about 8hrs life and seem pretty good to me ...... may not be trendy enough for the youngsters though !!
