which Carb?
nib1980 - 31/7/06 at 09:02 PM

Hello again all,

I'm planning on fitting some side draft carbs to my 1300 xflow.

But which is best? I'm thinks 40's, but dellortto or webber.

Or have I just asked a really stupid question. (please be gentle)

many thanks

Dellorto or weber both are good. i used to run twin dellortos on my 1600 x flow and they were great. just to add another option to your list why not try bike carbs. much cheaper than the others and you will get just as good performance. bogg brothers specialise in manifold and i think they are about £120.00. reckon on between £50.00 and £150.00 for a set of carbs and you will have a good set up.

I like the Webers - but I'm a purist. Hey, if they're good enough for Ferrari Lamborghini and Porsche, they're good enough for me!

There always seems to be loads of webers available on ebay and again with a crossflow manifold.

I would go with webers. I think there are more of them in circulation plus more books dedicated to tuning them etc.
