first bad ebay experience advice needed
I bought a motherboard for a computer I'm trying to fix. Item arrived a couple of days later but it was not the model advertised and would not
fit the case I need it for.
I emailed the seller and he said to send it back and he would send the correct one. I sent it last Monday first class so he should have got it
Tuesday. I have emailed him as I haven't heard anything but no reply. I emailed again yesterday saying that if I do not hear from him or receive
the part by mid day Monday 15th December I will notify ebay and start procedures to get my money back.
I don't think this is unreasonable but what do I need to do. As it stands I am out of pocket for the original cost of motherboard and post
approx £33 plus £6.40 to send the incorrect part back. I paid via paypal using credit card.
Please advise me what the best course of action is as I've never had to do this before.

If you paid using Paypal, did he send the mobo using "registered" delivery or standard ?
If you didn't sign for it, just claim "none delivery" Paypal will automatically refund you (minus the return postage obviously)

You need to open a dispute. This can take ages and in the mean time paypal keep the money.
I think it took me over a month with out the seller disputing my claim.

Bear in mind that it is the last week before Christmas and the mail is overloaded with parcels. If it was delayed by only 1 day each way...He would
have got it Wed', he deals with it and posts back Thu' you get it today or Mon'?
No excuse for not answering e-mails though.

I dont think ebay will touch a claim untill at least 21 days have passed for above reasons.

You need to w8 and open a dispute. It might take some time. You should the notify paypal to get the money back and you might be also able to claim for
postage of the incorect part delivered if you have a receipt.

With it being christmas it could easily be in the system somewhere. Stuff can take ages to get through the post at this time of year.

Don't you believe it they don't do any checks --- I sold an item (Rover 600 rear lamp assembly) on standard terms and conditions to be
posted by 1st class auction closed at 4 pm Friday, missed Friday post so it was posted at 9:20 am Staurday. On Tues at 1pm the complete nutter
who bought it for her son to be delivered to his University address started a complaint against me for non delivery which was accepted by E-Bay. The
bitch then disapeared off on holiday for 3 weeks, leaving me getting threating emails from Ebay any replies to which were never looked at it turned
out the item had be delivered by Royal Mail parcels on Tuesday at 3pm.

It may well be stuck in the post somewhere but I doubt it.
Still doesn't excuse a reply to my emails.
