Things to get ready prior to build?
Well I have taken two months leave from my proper job to finally start building.
I naturally would like to get a chassis done and more, but what would experienced builders here recommend I source prior to cutting steel?

I wish I could take time off to get the car done!
The thing that surprised me the most that I've come to depend on is gloves I'm on my second pair of these:
Which can be had at Bunnings for ~$20.

long service leave Doug...I decided it is some time for me!
Besides if I don't do this I will never get it done!
OK Gloves - got it.
Paul I have a newish 30X20 garage with good lighting...but it is a bit full. Have a new set of Bahco tools...very nice things too.
Sorting parts is a good idea, they have all been shoved in the compactus for the past 4 years!

Paint the floor of the garage if not done - helps with cleanliness, dust, finding all the dropped nuts etc. Write lists of things needed and order
asap or you may spend too much time waiting for bits to arrive. And maybe a horseshoe?

The bigest things I cant operte without in my garage?
Plastic take-away boxes (for putting small parts in when dismantling things), small fan heater and my radio.
Other than that it's white washed walls and wishing I'd painted the floor as every time I sweep up, all I get is clouds of concrete dust.

OK, floor paint it is...should have done it ages ago but too busy...be a bugger of a job too.
Engine?...6G75 Mitsubishi 3.8lt V6 and 5spd manual.

Try a handful of wet / damp sawdust, sprinkle a line across the garage floor, then sweep that line to the other end of the garage.
Job Sorted and cheaply.
I used to do this as a kid (over 40 years ago!) in the Co-Op (my evening job)
The damp sawdust collects the dirt without making a dustcloud.
It works well and is cheap. Mix water with the sawdust until its wet, ie very damp and crumbly, but not sloppy.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

30 years ago I used to do just that as an Air Cadet...all the time thinking that the tight buggers should just paint the floor. Funny how circles
form.
