I'm guessing it was registered long before the current regs regarding tow limits. Although if the tow limits are related to the car weight, there can't be much in it between the car and the caravan!

Years ago 1970s? there was a caravan that could be towed by a mini.
A proper one too, not a folding one or teardrop trailer.

Actually 1960s:

lets report him to the police, that'll learn him.............

leave the poor s*d alone, he obviously has enough misery in his life as he seems to own both a Marlin AND a trailer tent

Do the "new" rules apply? Certainly the ones regarding Type Approval of towbars don't appear to. I checked into it and it seems that only type approved vehicles require type approved towbars.

Not a caravan, but I did get a few looks towing a trailer load of rubbish into the local tip with the Robin Hood It was temporarily the only car I had with a towbar.

not surprising sadly - owning a Marlin and a trailer tent isn't going to do much for your sex life...... just say no kids

If you look at it another way the guy has built himself a car (may have built himself a trailer tent too for all we know), negotiated a weekend pass from the wife and kids and is out on the open road. He's equipped himself for the weekend and is towing the tent to a nice little campsite in rural wales.

When he gets there he' got accommodation and the freedom to head out and enjoy the Welsh twisties in his little car. He'll be stopping at a nice little inn for a bite to eat and a local ale, then back to the tent for a campfire and a couple more beers.

There'll be no phone signal so he doesn't have to check in with the wife either

Sounds alright to me!
