GRP seats for a Striker?
I'm looking at ordering seats this week for the build and was wondering what the fit is like for the seats from kitcardirect? I have only seen
there seats and 2 others who do seats for the striker (tillett and JK). Are there any other options?

I have a pair of the JK seats in my car and they're very comfortable and also very rigid.
I have a bad back and they feel like they support me quite well.
Just watch out on how you're mounting whichever you go for as some of the cheap ones I have found to be quite flexible.
If it isn't broken; take it apart and fix it! Build PhotoBlog:

How big/fat/wide are you?
As the fibreglass seats for strikers are a tight fit.

haha well that's a bit of a rude question
I'm 6'5 and 17 stone. the seats are 400mm wide and I have fitted in narrower ones that JK do but I opted for the biggest I could fit in to
accommodate anyone who may sit in.
How wide is the striker space for the seats? I think the Zero I have is 440mm.

striker has 37cm max width, and it tapers in as the front to rear chassis member is one unit and doesn't kink at the front of the cockpit like
most kits do.

Runs in my mind that JK (and Tillet?) do a narrow seat for thr Striker/Phoenix as their standard one and most of the others makes don't fit.

Agree with this.
I'm a tad over 12 stone and Striker seats are snug.
I'd try and have a sit in a car if anyone is local to you with GRP seats.

I'm 6'2, 34 inch waste and 14 stone,I had some of the smaller JK'S but not as small as the striker ones and I couldn't use
them as they were too tight.
That's the reason so many strikers have the horrid bench seat set up,so people can actually fit in them!!

Just to confirm...
The seats have the base mounts and cut outs for 6-point harnesses.
They're with Andy at AB Performance. I'm aware that he may already have someone interested in them - I've sent him an email to
confirm if it's a done-deal.
Will get back to all once I know for sure.

Craig, I'm a similar height and just a few pounds lighter, I had the vinyl covered squab seats in my striker, but found them uncomfortable on
long drives as one of the chassis diagonals rubbed my hip bone
I'm currently refreshing my striker, I've bought some cheap second hand fibreglass seats from a Westfield, knowing that they would be too
wide
I've ground off any excess material from the outside, they fit at the back, but were about 40 mm too wide at the front
To get over that, I've cut a V shaped wedge from under where one of my legs will be, they now fit, I've got to glass to joint which will
then be covered camping roll padding
The upshot is though is that on the sides they are only about 4mm thick, but being smooth, they are much more comfortable than chassis members!

Waist wise I'm between 32 and 34 but hopefully down to 32 by the time IVA come around. Just going to have to get a set and try them.

Mine were N3942 I think,39cm wide.
The striker version is 35cm,so you best try to get down to a 30 inch waist!!!

I have one JK comp as a drivers seat and a cheap unknown for a passenger seat.
The JK one is leagues away from the cheaper one. Im 5ft 9 and 12.5 stone. 32" waist and fit in fine. Nice and snug, would not want it wider even
if I could.
The swab \ bench seats are very comfortable, I drove mine to the ring and covered 5K miles at least with them. I only swapped as I was doing more
track days which really require more head and trunk support.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Ive a set of JK Comps fitted to my striker
if youre local to Doncaster drop me a message and you can come sit in it whilst im working on it this weekend..
Im only 5"8 but 13.5 stone and 34 waist not felt pinched in them at all,.. strikers aren't the most graceful cars to get in and out of
anyways, and being a shorty i use a back pad for lumbar support to move me forward, saves having to set the seat per driver..
