Wiring loom HELP
Evening all,
Wondering if anyone can send me some kind of lifeline here?
Built my car to the point of attempting to start it. Plugged the old loom into all the connectors/ecu, made sure everything is grounded but the thing
won't fire. There is no spark and fuel doesn't seem to be getting through the injectors (pump spins and builds pressure). It's as
though there is an ECU problem as there is 12v going to the injectors but no pulse signal to tell the, to open.
Any ideas or general advice welcome.
Thanks

From your ECU is it possible to tell if it can see the engine turning over? Could be an issue with the crank sensor or wiring so the ecu doesn't
try to start the car?

Can you check for both continuity in the loom and also working sensors. A multimeter should be sufficient for this. ..?

I had the same problem a while ago when I came to run the engine for the first time. I checked the wiring and even got an auto electrician mate to
check also. The answer was to change each component one by one and eventually I found that the ECU was faulty even though I had been assured it ran
the engine previously. So unless you have first hand knowledge that a component is 100% don't believe it.

Thanks guys, I'll try a few of your suggestions on Monday (away for weekend).
It's frustrating as I drove it before disassembly, so I know it did work, just not now..........

Have you by chance got the ECU fed from an accessory feed so that it dies during cranking? Do you have 12v at all the important points whilst turning
the engine over?
