Bike carbs fuel pump location
Charlie_Zetec - 29/6/11 at 02:08 PM

Looking at places to install the fuel pump for my zetec on bike carbs.

Is there anything I should be thinking about before I find a home for it, such as vertical or horizontal fitting, below the fuel tank, etc.?

Advice appreciated, pictures even more so!

Hi,

I have mine mounted on the chassis by the fuel tank with no problems, I also have a filter before the pump, and am running a Zetec on bike carbs.

Mine is located on engine side of tranny tunnel and works a treat.

Definitely put it at the back of the car close to the tank.

I had mine initially in the engine bay and it worked fine. However I kept getting minor air leaks which meant the pump kept running when it should have stopped.

I moved it to the back of the car just underneath the tank so it was gravity fed and since then I havenīt had any more problems.

Bike ticker pumps push the fuel so it wants to be at the rear next to the tank mine is horizontal
I hope this helps

Another vote for rear, mine kept dying at the front.

Mines on the bulkhead in front of the scuttle, worked perfectly for 2000miles and still working.

i know everyone recommends them at the rear but when i got my car it was at the front.
3 years later with a few thousand road miles and about 20 trackdays its never caused me any problems

I have mine at the front on the bulkhead, went all over northern france and belgium with no bother.
