Dean's mx5 Haynes build
Dean m - 18/5/16 at 04:41 PM

Hi, complete novice in the kit car world here.
Little bit about me, I am an ex-RAF aircraft engineer now working as mechanical maintenance engineer in a factory.
I have been wanting to build a seven type car for years, drooling over them at shows and had a ride in a S2000 powered MK Indy around bruntingthorpe, what an experience that was!!!

I've now took the plunge and started stripping the donor car and have a flat pack kit from Talon sat in the garage.

In preparation for the build, I went to night school last year on a welding course.
Earlier this year I bought a very very rusty 1.6 Eunos Roadster to use as the donor

Hi and welcome good luck with the build and we like pictures and plenty of them and don't forget the only silly question is the one you don't ask
All the best Gary

welcome to the forum i have a mx5 based car your welcome to a ride if you want and good luck with your build

Dean m - 18/5/16 at 08:38 PM

Thank you for the replies and welcome messages.
I will make sure I put up plenty of pics as I progress, I do have lots more of stripping the eunos down but didn't want to bore you with a load of pics of a slowly dismantled eunos!

I will certainly have plenty of questions and I may need a extra pair of hands or expert eye cast over my build as I go thanks Steve!

Would love to have a look at your car and a ride would be fantastic, what part of the country are you in?

Your welcome to come out in mine anytime. My luego is slightly larger than a mk with a black top zetec and jenevy throttle bodies. I also have a friend who strips mx5s if you need anything.

Thanks everyone,
Lovely car Ben, it looks really aggressive! The roll cage would be exactly how I want mine ( looks similar to the mk Indy cage)

Luego would love a ride and look at your car. Where snouts are you?
