Sounds a lot compared to the older guys, but it's about the same as a 1.6L hatchback. I had a look at Focus STI quotes, and for a car with
similar performance and a lower value the cheapest was over £2,000. I'm hoping but doubting that next year's quote will be a fair bit lower
after getting past the mythical 25 year barrier.
You guys are all very good, so many clean licenses above.... 'when' i eventually get to finishing mine, I have feeling my chequered past might make mine expensive!
My indy 2.0 is £97,
43YO,fully comp with 2gether insurance 3000 miles.

I've had a quote through Frank Pickles' online form. Setting it for cover to start after my 25th birthday next week, I could only get third party, so I had to lie about my age a little to make it look like I'm already 25. They quoted £240 fully comprehensive, limited to 5,000 miles. That's a third of what I'm paying now. So 25 actually is the magic number. Obviously, I'd correct the details if I went ahead with it.
£430 fully comp, agreed value of £15,000

Quick question if I may.
How many of you run a second car as a daily in addition to the Kit car?
Do you tend to insure the kit car with the same provider or with another provider?
Also do you insure all year round or only at certain times of the year?
Thanks and apologies for all the questions.
Marc
I use different companies, kit car insurance is best off using a specialist company.
For the price of the insurance and the risk of something happening to the car in the garage I leave it insured all year.
Not had it for a few years, but IIRC I paid around £145 fully comp on my 2.0 Pinto MK Indy for me only to drive. SWMBO was OK'ish being driven in it, but had no desire to take the wheel herself. The odd wheel-spin probably didn't encourage her
Sorry for the late reply guys, thanks for the info.
Frank Pickles are no longer doing new business on kit cars as they are concentrating on caravans.
I phoned up A-Plan for a quote on a 1000cc BEC, 5k miles a year - £15 per month.
I'm 38 years old with over 10 years no claims mind so not a youngster but I think that's a very good price.
Fully comprehensive too
I spoke to insurance the other day and was getting a quote for my
Mk indy R cbr1000rr, garaged birmingham, cctv and alarmed garage,
valve £20k
But they wouldn’t give me a quote as the car was valued to much
So my question, who dose insurance for high values as i
don’t want to drop my value to £10k as it’s a 2017 car with loads
of extras!!
Mine is a 2016 car with 1.6 MX5 bits 3k fully comp, have other cars Adrian Flux £97 - helped a bit being a kit car club member (EAKKC)
But only 5k value
