Hi All,
The wife's been going through the old photo's and this one turned up.
Should never have sold it. It would be a show bike now.
It even had an unmarked ally turbo guard. Others I have seen have either been dropped or it's missing completely.
It had only done 18k, and the front wheel even less.
O, for the benefit of hindsight.
Cheers

RG 500
And when my eldest can afford it she can buy me another (or an RC30) because she was the reason I sold it.
Bloody kids!
All my Star wars toys - an At-At walker, loads of figures, Millenium Falcon.....
My wife, although having 500 camels is quite useful.

Mk1 Astra GTE and my train set !
My VFR750R (F666PRV) which I bought for £9200 on the 5th Jan 1989.....sold a long time ago due to financial pressure.
I sat there in the office at Harry Gill's Motorcyles in Gosport choosing which plate from the list they had available, the number of the beast
leapt out from the page and it had to be...F666 PRV.
Still remember the first ride...wondering what the hell I had done spending that much money on a bike that you had to slip the clutch on upto 30
mph.....and then I saw the derestricted sign and a long series of bends Best bike I ever owned and I wish I still had is tucked up in the garage.
It will be 22 years in January....
RC30, best bike.....ever bar none.
This one isn't mine but you get the idea.
I also wish I still had my CB1100RC as well

Mk3 Escort G3.

It had to go for space reasons, would love to have it now.
A pair of Norton 250 cc bikes for £350 to buy err an engagement ring, it was 29b years ago and she still wears the ring

the first kit i ever built a tiger avon with zetec built it with no experience in 9 months passed sva first time, now i have a wife and two kids and it takes me nine months to do even small jobs. I still speak to the bloke who bought it even after 4 years id have it back in an instant.
My last XR4x4 2.9 V6, in red, beautiful car, engine was whisper quiet, went like a train. Bought another but it's just not the same.
One of these:-
Missed it so much, I tracked it down on ebay, bought it back, and it's now sat in a mates barn awaiting a refresh.
My old 106 rallye, was looking through some old photos yesterday and typed the reg number into google and it popped up on a forum.
Would love to buy it back as its almost still standard although im sure it would cost me more than I sold it for 6 years ago.

Things I wish I hadn't bought
One of these ......
..... but how else could I have afforded to build my car ??
[Edited on 3-10-10 by RazMan]
I sold my mk2 Golf GTI, it was the right thing to do as using a van for everyday & the girlfriend having a decent motor it just was'nt
getting used. I could'nt get anyone to come & view it with being in the middle of nowhere so I dropped the price to £900, the only lad to
look at came from Liverpool & paid the £900, we both knew it was worth much more!
I split with the girl 6 months later!
Got myself a cheap mk4 Golf with the headgasket gone to fettle & use now I dont have the use of her car
Best car i ever owned
(not that exact car mind just havent scanned to pics onto pc) but same colour same spec....
women have a lot to answer for !!!!!
Description
S1 80" landrover BDX 681
Going up in value all the time, gave it coils and a V8, used to race and trial it.
Sold it to make a space frame 86" landrover but foot and mouth killed the sport.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing
Had a lovely Mk1 3.0 litre granada that I bought and sold twice... would like to have it now.
I should never have sold this
a65
Don't regret much, but I wish I had had enough space so I didn't have to sell my old Mk1 GTi, Lhasa Green, 1.8 5-speed. Awesome little car.
(like this one)
I could buy another one now, but it wouldn't be the same.

1973 Lancia Fulvia - bought for £15 between me and a friend - scrapped
My 1973 Fiat 500 - scrapped
My 1956 Oval Beetle - scrapped
All scrapped because I was young, skint, and parents had split, house sold and nowhere to keep.
What I wish I'd had (slightly ot SD1 Vitesse, P6 3500S, Sunbeam Lotus (yes, as above; though a friend who did have one has now bought a
Matchless like the one in the pic)
Most Mk1 Escorts/Cortinas would have been a good investment 20 years ago.

Three things for me...
1. My Exige (pictured here in Bosnia). Absolutely loved that car... just couldn't get in or out of the bugger any more!

2. My Caterham Super 7. Such a pretty little car and really well put together. This was the first car I ever took apart... and sold in parts! A
complete waste!

3. My ickle Yamaha TRX850. I've had bikes that went (much) faster, turned (much) sharper and stopped (much) quicker, but I loved the character
of this one!
A friend of mine had a trx with noisy pipes and it actually hurt me chest if you were following too close and he opened it up
Clear crank design made it sound like a v, which was novel.

Renault R8 Gordini - everything about the car screamed motorsport - for it's time very advanced engine making 100 bhp per litre standard, twin sidedraughts and tail out motoring at its finest. Every trip brought a smile to my face.
1941 Ford Business Coupe (Buick powered), 1966 Corvette L88 roadster, 1963 BSA Gold Star, 1300 Anglia Roadrace car, Datsun 1200 Roadrace car, and finally 1946 Cessna 140 Airplane. Then the kids came!
Stupidly impractical and unbelievably slow but it was my first car and it never once let me down! Should have kept it and put a GT engine in it.
my 2nd love
my rsi
my filthy clio
RIP
I still have the steering wheel-column
Boris, my 1997 Lada. If not strictly the best car I've owned, certainly the most surprisingly good.
NRS 1 W
shouldn't have sold the car , sold it with the plate.
Not a good choice.
Pearl white Vauxhall Chevette HSR, one of 30 road homoglomated cars and a very late registration, not an HS
1980 Kawasaki Z1000ST
Any of the 350LC's I have had
Cars? Well maybe the MK2 Escort I had for a while, it wasn't pleasant....
Lots, but life's circumstances change. It's always painful at the time, but the 'new' is well... something new.
I'd happily take my Hillman Imp back though.
The only car I wish I stll had would be the 1977 Opel Kadett Coupe SR. It was white with blue interior, one of only 200 imported.....all of 1200cc, but used to powerslide beautifully..
Mk2 escort automatic.
Bought for 120 quid as a donor about 2002. Got it home, spent an hour or two and had fixed all the issues with it. Had it on the drive for a few years
and then scrapped it. I've now found due to 'pre finishing upgrades' I'm not using anything from the car
My Mini Pick up with restored body , sorted suspension, brakes and uprated MG Metro engine and box
My mini...
I got it for free as a bag of rust, by the time I finished it was solid.
Didn't realise what a mistake selling it was until I saw it going away on the back of the trailer
