how to i get this out 1.9 CDTi 150, ALTERNATOR

Vauxhall 1.9 CDTi 150, ALTERNATOR REPAIR,RECTIFIER REPACEMENT
i need to remove my alternator on my mrs car but cant work out how to get it out,i can remove the belt by removing the airbox and then removing the engine mount to gain access to the tensioner but have no idear how to get the thing out?

The alternator on my old Redtop has to come out from below, a very tight squeeze between the driveshaft, Exhaust and steering rack. Only way I've kind without taking the inlet manifold or engine out!.

Obviousley a different engine entirely but Vauxhall may still use the same idea.

Nightmare!

I think from memory when we've done them, they go down but won't pass the o/s driveshaft so you have to undo the ball joint and pop the innner cv out which just lets it past. Don't quote me on that though...

Had to replace mine on my Sri 150 it will come out the top but its not easy! to get mine out i removed the fuel filter and its mounting bracket, remover the o/s engine mounting supporting the engine with a trolley jack, if i remember right you can gain some clearance by lowering or raising the engine also had to gently tweak the air con pipes.

Comes out of the top You have to remove fuel filter assy.

Look on the vectra c forum lots of info on there

Have you checked with the main dealers they renewed mine because vauxhall [ GM ] had a recall when you take the car in for a service

remove air box,engine mount cam covers jack engine up and out pops alternator from the top.. whilst your there may as well do cam belt as guess your up around 70 -80 miles. thats the norm time for alternator to pack up..

no its done around 45,000

i cant see anyway of removing it without removing the fuel filter ?
