This is has just been discussed on Radio Le Mans, The basics - Circuit is not for sale ( as had been reported ) , complaints from 'new' residents is not the issue either ( also as reported) the issue is that the government has false info on the track., this is not just a Mallory issue but for any place that makes 'public' noise. The noise issue is nothing new.

Basically the whole story is what they call 'A Non- Story' whilst the petition was in good intention, the leaseholder of the circuit wants to renegotiate with local government about the noise in general.

All according to Radio Le mans

Did anyone catch the program on Motors TV tonight , the Bike World one ( episode 5 2013) they had a piece on the Mallory issue on there, whilst it somewhat contradicted what I was listening to last night on RLM, it just highlights the 'publics' view on recreational motoring. Just after the piece on Mallory they featured one about off-roading on bikes, at the start of it a local woman is heard on camera complaning about the noise and smells, she quickly legged it when the camera crew approached her, but does highlight that Mallory is just the latest track to be targeted, could be Oulton next month - who knows.

I thought it was all about the number of days which the council allowed them to use the track.

At the moment it's 92 days a year which was agreed with the council back in 1985 and now mallory want to renogoitate this and increase it to 160 days a year....this is what the locals are moaning about.

to be fair I can see the local's point as Mallory want to double their track days to almost every-other-day which is a big jump from every 4th day that the locals have been used to for the last 28years!

And I think this is where the many forums and petitions seemingly are not giving the true reasons for the complaints, and as such 'is a non- story', but if what you are saying is true, then yes perhaps they have a point. I live next door to someone who plays a drum kit as well as the waling screams from the rest of the band, they do keep the racket down to just 1 hr a day for the mostpart, still annoys me, but I guess they need the practice ( god knows they need the practice , lol ) but if they were to start playing for 6 hours a day I would have a real problem with that. Your suggested reasons would be the same as my situation, so yes I can see why some folks don't want more noise ( I wonder if any of the locals at Mallory are music fans that would swap houses with me, I would be happy to listen to engine noise any day personally).

Thanks, shame a lot of folks don't know this already.

I wonder then why the track owners need more cash, is this just for added profits or is there another reason?, marshalls at events come for free as do most of the officials as far as I know, maybe if they gave a breakdown of the accounts they might get the locals on their side?.
