walnuts in shells

As lad i remember every christmas my dad always used to have a bag of walnuts and brazil nuts and a nut cracker to open them with.

Carnt seem to find them anywere now been to a few super markets and health food shop, anyone know where i can get some?

My local tesco has loads of nuts on display, and some of the eating sort aswell.

I recall there is a problem with Brazil nut shells being carcinogenic. Thats why many places dont stock them!

Lol, i hated cracking open and eating nuts anyway, but for some reason i find that really funny.

You're not supposed to eat the shells! It never stops them selling fags!

ive got 4 carrier bags full of walnuts, collected from the tree which over hangs the bottom of our garden.

People use walnut shells as a blasting media, also they used to use them to provide a non slip surface on the backs of Ovation guitars, so I reckon that's where they've all gone.

It's true, the good old EU sticking their oar in again. They set some fairly strict rules on the amount of aflatoxins that were permitted in tree nut shells and it's quite difficult (expensive) to get Brazil nuts through IIRC.
