I know, I'm gutted. As a Newcastle fan I always remember him being a true gent whenever he was chatting to pundits and the press. I think it's testament to his nature just how many people have come out to say how sad they are and how nice a guy he was. A great footballer who always put in 110%, a real ambassador for he sport. RIP

Apologies but I hadn't heard about that probably due to the fact that its such a regular occurrence. I myself am ex military and have lost a friend in Afganhistan so think your barking up the wrong tree with comments like that.

very very sad news i can't imagine what his poor family are going through, he played over a 120 games for Bolton a true legend who had so much to look forward to ........... R.I.P Gary
