ideas please from the best place
worcester greenstar 28i junior 6 years ish old
found out this morning as the heating did not come on,
no hot water or heating
if hot tap turned on it does try to start
found pressure low so toped it up as have done in the past.
no flashing blue light
green radio signal light on
green light to say the gas is burning on for two sec then out
????
any help appreciated
Had a similar problem with Mothin in Laws a few weeks ago, I switched everything off back to the isolator switch, checked the condensate drain, system pressure, then powered it back up, and it fired up.
this from the manual
Burner lights then goes out in DHW or CH mode
Does the boiler run normally with the front cover off and
then fail when the cover is put back on?
If yes there is likely to be a flue problem - either the air inlet is blocked or the
inner flue is leaking flue gases into the air inlet.
thanks
where are the screws for the main cover please or how does it come off. so i can test that bit.
Mine is an older Worcestshire boiler it lost pressure there is a reset switch underneath of mine pressed it and voilla cost me £25.00 for the plumber to show me

that should sort you out!
I asked a q about a worcester a while ago, on here, and that led to the manuals.
ah pictures big help thanks
How mad, I've literally just come back from a friends with exactly the same problem on a 28i.
Fan and pump both running but no spark.
It was the overheat protection circuit that had tripped, the reset button is on top of the boiler at the front left hand side.
Isolated the power supply, pressed the reset button, power back on and all worked again.
many thanks for that, the only reset i can find is a button on the front panel the manual shows 2 over heat sensors in the area you mention but no
reset.
have noticed that the pressure is starting to fluctuate a fare amount.

thank for help
the main pump is not working correctly and is getting extremely hot so switching it all off again, so have switched it off at the mains and called the
insurance, did not want to pay £50 excess for a fuse or press a button.
big help as always ta.

It might just be worth swapping the pump out if you suspect it. Drain the system down and it shouldn't take you more than an hour with basic
plumbing tools, they are not terribly expensive.
Although pumps can last for years the question isn't IF a pump will go wrong, it's WHEN.
