I fully understand the Apple are becoming sinners as they I brace the Intel chip but I still find the whole Apple experience less frustrating than Windows
That said Office on the Mac is quite usable

Never mind 8.1, you can download Classic Shell for free and get back the proper start menu, de-activate the corners of the screen and customise the look and feel to that of Windows 7 or XP.

But the full Adobe Creative Suite 6 Professional on a 12 core Mac Pro with 2 x 27" Cinema screens and a 21" Cintiqu is astounding

WIndows is appalling in everyway. But Mac OS isn't all what its cracked up to be these days. After installing Mavericks I have had to upgrade the ram in my machine to 20gb! It seems to me the OS is using more and more system resources full less and less features!
