I dont think my clutch is disengaging Fully,
The car lurches forward when i put in 1st, I get the the feeling it could be the oil, or maybe somebody fotted the wrong clutch plates....
Wrong oil - too viscous?
Warped/burnt steels, warped/burnt/worn frictions?
Insufficient clutch release action?
Notches worn on clutch basket fingers?
Loose clutch nut?
Wrong plates, wrong number of plates, right plates in the wrong places?
Unmatched springs, wrong springs, missing springs?
Anti-rattle spring in the wrong place, or upside down?
Misplaced expectations that the drive take-up should be smooth silky and car-like?
Normally anything starting to break will have broken, so don't go looking too carefully, should be obvious.
Are you getting enough movement with the pedal, you have to be careful with some R1's as they have a diapham clutch spring that can go over
centre.
Best have a look at a bike and see how far the lever moves of U2U someone on here with the same lump and ask them to take a photo fully open and
closed for reference.

Its got a nice shiny Barnet clutch fitted,
We have had the clutch out and inspected all the parts, , fitted a new basket, and checked the travel on the arm, and all looks fine. Thats why i am
thinking about the oil
Did you soak the plates in oil before fitting?
Bike clutches do drag a little, expect a 'big clonk' when putting in gear as the plates break stiction when first engaging them, look at a
bike the chain will jump.
It should not be enough to move the car but will make you jump.

as said it's a bike clutch, designed to be used with 2 or 4 fingers that have a lot of feeling, not a dirty great size 9 with absolutely no feel in it, I drive in baseball boots
