Nice little project. I have done the same for the engine mounts on my Anglia with a normal sigma / Zetec se engine, but I like add a couple of flanges
to give the joint a bit of support. I also cut holes in the plate and pushed the square tube through it to provide a well on both sides for strength.

Thanks for the pics. I plan on adding some gussets to this along with flanges to triangulate so this isn't the finished article. I'm
also trying to work out a nice front mount for the top of the engine that ties into the brace that I had to cut out.
IL200 with 250 ft lb might well be pushing it. I ran a Supercharged Zetec with a Quaife 60G (Semi Helical) with 400BHP & 300 ft lb. The BGH E8
Type 9 in it previously needed rebuilding/replacing every season (or twice a season), the Quaife did 2.5 seasons with no issue.

Why do you think that? It's within specs for the gearbox and I'm assuming they'll be conservative with those figures i.e. 251lbft
isn't going to make it explode.
Here's a photo in-situ before being fully welded (I couldn't take a photo of the welded item in-situ, before finishing last night, because
it was still hotter than the sun).
The silicone elbow needs to be trimmed down to avoid the chassis member but there's a good chance the chassis member will be re-routed
anyway.
I took a video for a mate, it's not particularly interesting but it does show a quick tour around the engine bay as that helps give context to
the task at hand
@MagicalTrevor
Did you buy the engine second hand?
If so, what are the do's and dont's when buying a second hand engine. I am thinking of doing an ecoboost conversion myself at somepoint.

I did, but I bought from a trusted friend so I didn't worry about it. That said, he bought it and hasn't tested it so it could well be
dud. They're only £500-800 to buy so whilst I'll be annoyed, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
From what I know, the engine is a 2015 and has around 10k miles on it.
Don't forget the cost of the ECU with this conversion, they're expensive so budget £2k for it. An RX8/MX5 gearbox is a much, much cheaper
way of doing it for a road car and if you don't need a dry sump then a Sigma baffle in the standard sump is ideal.
