I'd also go for the MX5, for the reasons already quoted. With more and more scope for MX5 transplants into a 7 chassis, it makes sense to get
your MX5 knowledge to its maximum, then just move it into the new car. And you can go all out with turbo's, superchargers, nitrous etc, and keep
it for the new car!

Just like rusty mx5's here!
I know where he lives, because underneath his name (a few lines down, mind) is his location.
Oh and by the way;- I didn't mention rust. Not even once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a bit 'flakey' round the edges but I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue in Florida (compared to a car from Blackpool!!)
Oh, and it went like stink with nothing more than a home made induction kit, decent exhaust and 1bar of boost

Why thankyou Sir I lapped the Ring back to back in this and a track prepped MX5 a few years back. To say there was no comparison would be an
understatement!! BTW- the ReX stood me at about £1K

Dive in. You will learn all sorts of stuff. Anything other than an MX5 brings a lot of problems you won't have fun solving. The engine can
always be changed to anything you want later when you find it doesn't have enough power for you. Plenty of people here (this site, I mean) do
that.
