The 2003 MGTF that I replaced the 1996 MGF with ?
That's now sold, it was crap.
The first car had a lovely supple chassis and an engine that loved to rev. The TF had neither of these qualities.
It had to go.
Got my money back, added a little, bought a MK4 Golf, it's the antithesis of a sports car of any description.
I think I like it. It has 175/80 R14 tyres on steel wheels. The very thing for the roads around here.

Major update.
That Golf ?
Meh....
Flogged it, now I'm definitely a hairdresser.
Audi TT 225 quattro, with a small q.
Being me, I bought it for a grand.
Pics soon.

Love is like a snowmobile, speeding across the frozen tundra.
Which suddenly flips, pinning you underneath.
At night the ice-weasels come...

That's the one.
New turbo 3 years ago, new water pump and timing belt.
This one. Goes a bit quicker than I'm used to if I'm completely honest. Not sure if it's been tweaked, but it pulls very hard and is
pretty addictive.

Bob.
The red MGF was from autotrader.
The TF was from a family member.
The Golf was from Gumtree.
The TT is from a friend from usenet days who I'm still in contact with.
That's the best one so far.
He bought it 3 years ago with a blown turbo, for £500.
He fitted a new turbo and ran it for 3 years.
Recently the water pump failed, so he fitted a new pump, new timing belt and also a crank sensor.
He put a years MOT onto it and sold it to me for £1000.
It has weak synchro in 2nd gear and that's about it. It goes like a speeding pullet.
The picture above isn't very good, it looks much nicer than that.

They all look good, thinking of swapping out my Galaxy for something similar for the missus and changing my Combo van for a LWB Vivaro with a day van
conversion. The wife wants a Camper Van but when push comes to shove if I bought one If i said on a Friday night lets go away for the w/e it'll
be corry/emmerdale/xfactor/grandkids birthdays on we will have to stay home, so I cant see the point, but I do fancy a day van.
Cheers,
Bob

I had an old Citroen Synergie.
We used it in 5 seat config with the back seats right at the back and loads of space in the centre.
With the front seats turning round, Captain's chair style, it was a properly useful dayvan.
We used it at the racing just like that on a few occasions.
Highly recommended and very useful.

Old thread revival tastic !!
I now have a MKIV Golf GTI 1.8t.
It's the worst one to have, apparently.
I love it.

My daughter had one for a while - I hated it! What with the windows dropping down into the door (don't slam the doors with the windows down!),
the glove compartment that refused to open when a bit of plastic broke, the leaks into the passenger compartment when the rear washers were used...
the list went on...
...and all of the faults were well documented at the time, yet still appeared in the Seat that used the same chassis a few years later.
I didn't think it was particularly fast either - too lardy (not me - although it could be said - but the car).

I've had this 18 months now and in that time it's had, let me think.
I put a wing on it when I got it and repaired the sill where it had rotted through near the wing.
("They all do that sir".
Thermostat so it warms up now.
New regulator on the alternator.
Couple of bottom wishbones.
It's a second car of course, and cost me £500.
It's no sports car, there's a surprise.
I quite like its rather oleaginous feel, being old now ;-)
I won't mention that I also have a Toyota Hybrid now...

I must say that "oleaginous" is a splendid word to come across in LocostBuilders... we really must try to squeeze in a few such epithets
to improve the collective grammar!

I had expected to attract considerable opprobrium, or at least a mild upbraiding for such florid language.

What tax did he try to transfer! Surely you have to tax it? Damn more expense!

similar crazy price haven't got full details here but I have seen the car and it looks good I can find more information should anyone want it
