Someone nicked my donor car!!!

We left for a camping hol on sunday morning... sunday night my donor got nicked..

They've had to smash a window to get in - break the steering lock. drag it off the hard standing.. and use something big to drag it up the hill past my all neighbors brakes stuck. who all noticed it missing when they woke up monday.

No Ive not cut short my hol because of it....

we had a 50mph storm that demolished our tent tuesday night. (one of the poles snapped an inch from where it goes into the next pole - not in the middle where you'd expect)

IF the police recover the donor - I HAVE TO PAY TO TURNED OVER TO ME!! because they removed it from where they found it.

On the plus side I can now think of bigger more tunable engines.... But NOW I'd have to buy it...

It sucks to be me.....

hey, don't get mad, all they are trying to do is build a locost for under £ 250.

Yeah... but it now means I cant!!!

Oh to cap it all - just spoke to one of the ol' gits up the road... someone has also been nicking our flags - as in yorkshire stone flags...

They're all broken out side my place - from parking all sorts of heavy things on em.

if they find it why can't the police simply tell you where it is and you drive it back? or is that too sensible?

they pushed it away?

50mph...?!

I think a tarp and some bambo canes could have weathered that "storm" better

you should ask for your money back on that one

Oddly enough - we asked for our money back from the camp site and they said ok... mind you - they'd been over to see the carnage and saw the youngest still in PJ's sat in the back of the car amongst all the gear we'd just thrown in at 1 in the morning...

I guess you'll have to take the wheels off the donor next time, at least it would make more noise when they pushed/dragged it away.......

what kind of tent was it ?

I hope my new one does a better job this weekend: linky
my last vango one did me 15+ years in all weather (inc. 5 years abuse at T in the Park )

Probably your neighbors clubbed together and paid a scrappy to come and remove the unsightly scrap car from your driveway!

mcerd1 - our tent was a vango diablo 600 (twin bed ver - not the 3 bed ver)

so if your vango has a similar footprint - there's a footprint and some spare poles going (the ones that survived).

As for the guy who mentioned that the neighbors might have clubbed together... that thought crossed our minds. but there has been a consistent thing around while the flags and the car going... A dyno rod crew.

One of the crew asked about the car - (The mains water is in front of where it was parked - and you couldnt see it from the house where they were working...)

i dont think they were there officially - they seemed to know the homeowners.

The same night as car went more flags went.

and the 4mtr sprinter they had would be up to the job of dragging the ol volvo up the hill backwards - and to take flags
